E100 Electric Scooter by Razor Review

Razor E100 Electric Scooter picThe E100 electric scooter by Razor is that model you’ve always wanted, except instead of a sleek, fast manual scooter, you’re looking at an electric one that can get you where you need to go, fast. Razor is the same company that produces the popular manual scooters that seem to be everywhere these days. The company has since expanded their line up and included a variety of electric models that can be used around town or as a daily commuter to and from work.

E100 Electric Scooter by Razor Overview: Specs and Features

The E100 is considered the smallest scooter produced by Razor. The assembly process is very simple and takes a hex wrench and about ten to fifteen minutes total. Once you’ve assembled your scooter you’ll need to charge it.

The deck of the scooter features a non-skid coating for improved grip and is wide enough to allow you to switch positions without stopping. There is also a strip of blue LED lights placed around the deck’s edge for safe night riding. But in terms of extra features the blue LEDs are pretty much it. This model lacks much of anything aside from the kickstand, brakes and accelerator. It’s also not equipped with a battery power level indicator so the rider has no way of knowing how much juice is left. The back of the scooter is not equipped with a light, so you’ll need to purchase one separately in order to ride safely at night.

A simple caliper brake is placed on the front, similar to the setup of your basic bike. Beneath the scooter’s deck you’ll find a couple of lead acid batteries. This model’s motor turns the scooter’s rear wheel with a chain drive. The batteries are the same type that have been used for many years to power the starter motors in vehicles, so it seems almost outdated to use, especially considering most models of electric bikes and scooters now use lithium ion batteries because they offer more power and longevity.

Because of its small stature, this isn’t one of Razor’s fastest scooters. While their top of the line model can go around twenty miles per hour, this scooter features a top speed of just ten miles per hour, with forty minutes of ride time once the battery has been fully charged. The maximum weight of the rider is also pretty limited, allowing for only a hundred and twenty pounds. Which makes this scooter a better fit for small riders or children. According to the manufacturer, this model is suitable for kids eight years old and older. So if you’re looking for a scooter for your child you need to determine whether you want to purchase a model that they might easily grow out of pretty quickly, or buy a slightly larger model, like the E200 by Razor, that offers a higher weight limit and a little more speed. Whichever type of Razor scooter you choose make sure that your child wears a helmet. While electric scooters are not considered high powered vehicles, the rider can still suffer from a fatal head injury if they fail to wear proper protection.

Consumer Feedback for this Electric Scooter by Razor

Razor E100 Electric Scooter pink picNot a model that’s intended for large adults, it’s perfect for smaller riders, and children and is still a dependable ride that can get you around town. If an impressive top speed really doesn’t matter to you, then this dependable scooter might be a good fit. For smaller adults, it can be pretty frustrating to find the right type of electric scooter that isn’t too big and one that allows you to feel in control, instead of just along for the ride. So take a second look at an escooterthat may seem like it’s designed just for you and feel confident as you zip around town on your new electric scooter.

Pros: This is an environmentally friendly model that’s both durable and reliable. It features a chain driven high torque of twenty-four volts with a hundred watt motor and is powered by two twelve volt batteries. The basic motorcycle style twist throttle is found on the hand grip, allowing for improved control and comfort during a longer ride. The included hand operated brakes are pretty impressive and can stop short in seconds. Because this scooter is made from quality materials that are designed to take a beating, this scooter is the perfect choice for young kids. The fact that it’s easy to assemble is a big selling point for many users. Disassembly is also pretty simple, making this model easy to transport and store when not in use.

Cons: Some users found the power of the brakes to be lacking. But more importantly, if this is a model for your child you’ll need to educate them on how to free the throttle if they want to stop and how to properly use the front brake.  Another issue for some users was the drive chain cover size. This large protection cover can inhibit movement for the rider if they choose to go right. When the scooter is turning right the cover will come into contact with the street, which in turn can cause the scooter’s rear wheel to lose traction.

Conclusion and Rating for the E100 by Razor

Consumers gave this model a rating of four out of five stars for easy assembly, ease of use and the overall quality of the frame. Keep in mind this is a scooter that’s marketed towards children or smaller riders and isn’t meant to compete with the heavy duty line of faster scooters produced by this company. This is still a reliable and solid scooter that can be used as a daily commuter, just as long as you don’t mind the lower speed it has to offer. A great buy for children, young adults and smaller riders, now you can ride on a model that’s designed for your size and no longer struggle to control a larger scooter that’s built for heavier and taller adults.

Super Cycles & Scooters SUP8002 Review

Super Cycles & Scooters BlackSUP800-2 Super Turbo picThe SUP8002 electric scooter by Super Cycles & Scooters is considered one of the most powerful models on the market. Featuring a 1000 watt, 3,000 RPM motor with sprockets and heavy-duty chain, this virtually quiet running model is a consumer favorite that’s packing some serious power. This model can be used for a leisurely ride around town and it’s also fast enough and dependable enough to be used as a means of transportation to and from the office. You can switch off the battery and ride this scooter manually for an impressively tough workout, or switch on the motor and let the scooter handle all the hard work.

Super Cycles & Scooters SUP8002 Assessment: Specs and Features

This model is also equipped with ignition and key, a solid steel frame for improved durability, extra wide tires for improved balance, dual rear shocks for a smoother ride, and front and rear disc brakes. The manufacturer also gives you the option to upgrade this model and convert this scooter to the forty-eight-volt lithium model for a faster riding experience. To upgrade, you must purchase the forty-eight-volt upgrade kit. Other upgrade kits are available including splash guards, speed charger, mirrors, hill kit and brake lights. If you purchase one of these upgrades at the same time as the scooter the manufacturer will install them at no extra charge.

This model replaces the past Super Turbo 800. The upgrade is fairly simple, involving an upgrade in the chain, sprockets, and motor wattage. Considered one of the most powerful and reliable models around, this scooter has an impressive rider weight limit of three hundred pounds.  Equipped with a thirty-six-volt motor that provides three hundred RPMs, the max speed for this model is twenty-six miles per hour, which is unbelievably fast for a scooter. However, the max speed can also be affected by a few factors including weather conditions, whether you’re carrying any cargo, the weight of the rider and terrain type. Up-hill, this model will probably offer around twelve to fifteen miles per hour. According to the manufacturer, this scooter can offer about eighteen miles per charge, with the maximum mileage depending on rider weight and terrain type.

This scooter package features the basic tool kit, battery charger, headlight, removable extra-wide seat, and access to instructional videos on the manufacturer’s site.

Consumer Feedback for this Electric Scooter

Super Turbo 1000watt Elite picAccording to consumers, this scooter rides like a rocket. Much more powerful than your standard electric model, you’ll be surprised at how fast this baby can go.

Pros: This model is pretty sensitive to even the slightest input of throttle, shooting off even with a heavier rider. The scooter can still provide a pretty smooth ride, even on bumpy or uneven terrain, thanks to the included shock absorbers, which you won’t find on low-quality models. The brakes themselves work well, with the ability to stop short impressively quick. According to consumers, the assembly is very simple, due to the clear and well detailed provided instructions. Altogether the entire assembly process should take about twenty minutes, which makes this model perfect for newbies with no prior bike or scooter assembly experience. Individuals who purchased this scooter were also impressed with the smooth ride it offers, even if you decide to take it over uncultivated terrain.

Cons: This model is much heavier than manual scooters, so you can expect a better workout when using it in manual mode. This can be an issue for smaller individuals or riders who aren’t physically fit. Because of the weight it can also be difficult to pick up, transport and store. One user also had an issue with the battery not holding a charge. When customer service was contacted they were very helpful and courteous. After troubleshooting, the customer service rep suggested a possible issue with the charger. A new charger was sent out immediately and completely solved any issues with poor battery life. Should you run into any issues with the scooter’s performance contact customer service right away. Another consumer had issues with the brakes and ended up needing to readjust the disc brakes in order to prevent them from rubbing on the vented discs. Fortunately, the discs can be adjusted easily be hand. The poor adjustment of the discs probably occurred during shipment, so keep this in mind and test the brakes before taking your scooter out for its first spin.  Should you notice any noise during your ride, be sure to check out the chain, it may need to be oiled, after which you won’t notice any sound at all.

Conclusion and Rating for this Electric Scooter

Consumers gave this model a rating of five out of five stars for ease of assembly, powerful motor, impressive shock and brake systems, quiet riding experience, pricing and overall quality of the frame. A model that can definitely be relied upon as your only means of transportation to and from work, the SUP8002 is a scooter that’s fun and exciting to ride, easy to control and a blast to use. The sheer speed this scooter has to offer is enough to convince most scooter enthusiasts to give it a shot. One consumer, who weighs almost two hundred pounds stated he was still able to get the scooter’s speed up to twenty-four miles, uphill. Downhill, many users noted they could go at a top speed that range from thirty to thirty-five miles an hour. Because of the amount of power the scooter offers you may want to choose a less powerful, slower model if you’re searching for the right scooter for your kid. This model is definitely not a great choice for users under the age of 12. A high-quality model that’s available at a reasonable price, it’s no surprise that it rated so well with consumers. For an even faster scooter or to add some extra features, purchase an upgrade or two through Amazon or right from the manufacturer’s website.

E300 Electric Scooter By Razor Review

Razor E300 Electric Scooter - Matte Gray picRazor scooters are still popular, even though they burst onto the scene about fifteen years ago. These days you can still see people riding them, but unlike the manual models of the past, these new models by Razor are electric and can get you where you need to go, faster. These environmentally friendly scooters are capable of speeds up to fifteen miles per hour, allowing you to zip around town or commute to and from work peacefully leaving the heavy work to the scooter.

E300 Electric Scooter By Razor Overview: Specs and Features

The E300 by Razor is one of the largest models in their lineup. This model weighs in at forty-six pounds and features a weight limit of 220 pounds. A faster than average scooter, the E300 is capable of speeds up to fifteen miles per hour. This model is easy to assemble, just use a hex wrench to attach the steering column. The cables for the brakes and accelerator extend from the deck of the scooter to the handlebars. The deck is wider than the deck found on manual models and features a non-skid material over the top for improved grip. This model operates using a couple of lead acid batteries, which are hidden inside of the deck. Two pneumatic tires complete the scooter. Measuring in at ten inches, the front tire is extra wide for a smoother ride. The super-sized frame means it’s perfect for users of all sizes.

The brushed steel shell placed over the rear wheel is a convenient place to put your foot. The power switch has been placed down on the side of the deck, right next to the charging port.

Razor E325 Electric Scooter picThis is a pretty standard model, you don’t have to worry about manual kickoff, because this scooter can be started from a standing position. This isn’t an escooter that’s equipped with a ton of fancy features. At the rear of the deck you’ll find the electric motor. The motor drives the rear wheel with a chain. By twisting the accelerator on the right handlebar you can accelerate. On the left handlebar you’ll find the brake. This model can run for forty minutes per charge, requiring a charge time of twelve hours.  The brakes on this model are pretty impressive. You can press the hand operated rear brake lever, which is attached to the rear wheel and allows you to stop short anytime.

Consumer Feedback for this Razor Scooter

Pro: This model is considered the fastest Razor in their electric line. At fifteen miles an hour, you’ll be hard pressed to find another electric model that can go quite as fast. If you like smoother and faster rides then you should definitely purchase this escooter. The single speed chain driven motor on this model is significantly better than what you will find on other scooters produced by the Razor line because it offers super high torque, generating about three hundred watts of raw power. The scooter’s chain is described as ultra-quiet so you’ll enjoy a virtually silent and peaceful ride. Most consumers loved the improved grip and better control over acceleration with this model. The size and design of the deck is a huge improvement over scooters of the past. The width of the deck will allow you to easily change positions without having to stop, and it also works to make this scooter significantly more durable than other models in this price range. The deck is also about four inches longer, which makes it a great choice for taller riders or riders with large feet. The power the motor produces is almost fifty percent stronger than other models in the Razor electric line.

Cons: Because this model isn’t equipped without a battery charge indicator it can be difficult to determine how much charge is left. While the average charge time is forty minutes, this can also be affected by terrain type. For example, you’ll definitely get about forty minutes of charge if you’re riding on a flat road and not carrying any cargo, but if your route consists of a lot of hills, uneven terrain or you’re carrying a number of bags, then the charge may only last for twenty or thirty minutes. Without a change indicator light, it can be pretty difficult to tell. This model also isn’t equipped with any backlights or a headlight, which would make it safe for a ride at night. The structure of the scooter also lacks any sort of hole or link into which you could run a bicycle lock through, which is a downside for many users. While charging, several consumers also noted a harsh burning rubber smell. Comparably, this model also has about a ten percent shorter running time than over models in the Razor electric line. This escooter isn’t equipped with adjustable handlebars, which can make it difficult for taller riders to use this scooter comfortably. This model isn’t recommended for users under the age of twelve because the less weight of the rider will mean increased difficulty controlling the scooter when you get to top speed. Some users found the scooter difficult to ride and navigate when using it in manual mode. The sheer size of the scooter also makes it difficult to transport and store for some users.

Conclusion and Rating for the E300 Scooter

Consumers gave this model a rating of four out of five stars for top speed capabilities, quality build and pricing. This electric scooter has a number of features to offer that are lacking in other models in the Razor line. With improved power, more space and better control, this model has an edge over other electric scooters in this price range. The powerful high torque motor is enough to convince the avid scooter rider to give this model a shot, while the ability to start up the scooter in a standing position is a huge bonus for riders with disabilities. Reasonably priced and a reliable choice for your daily commuter, this model by Razor will definitely turn some heads as you ride around town in style.
